Policy

Wake Forest University is committed to compliance with all U.S. export control laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), and sanctions and embargoes implemented by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.  These laws exist to regulate the transfer of certain goods, technologies, and information to foreign countries, entities, and persons in order to protect U.S. national security and economic interests.  

WFU values its international collaborations and desires to continue its broad range of research and scholarly activities in the U.S. and abroad, including fostering a collaborative research environment with foreign scholars and students.  This Policy aims to ensure that WFU’s values are pursued consistent with export control laws.  

All WFU faculty, staff, students, and visitors or third parties involved in export related activities are responsible for being aware of and complying with U.S. export control laws and regulations and the University’s export policies and procedures.
