Policy

Wake Forest University is committed to maintaining its institutional integrity and ensuring compliance with the accreditation standards set forth by its institutional accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Because SACSCOC accreditation extends to all programs, services, and locations of the university, any significant modification or expansion of our educational offerings or institutional structure must be systematically tracked and reported. This policy establishes a standardized process for identifying, reviewing, and reporting substantive changes to mitigate the institutional risks of non-compliance—which can include federal funding penalties from the U.S. Department of Education, formal monitoring, sanctions, or the potential loss of accreditation. By maintaining rigorous reporting mechanisms, the university ensures educational quality, program alignment, and operational success across all schools and campuses.
